Jesse Marsch has rotated in current York United assistant coach Mauro Eustáquio to the coaching staff this weekend ahead of the September window. Brother of CANMNT midfielder Stephen Eustáquio, Mauro's addition makes them the first coach-player duo in a Men’s National Team camp in the program’s history. Mauro joins the CANMNT staff as the Canadian Coaching Community Representative.

Mauro Eustáquio

Mauro is a former CANMNT youth international and current assistant coach at York United in the Canadian Premier League. Eustáquio brings a wealth of experience from a career spanning nearly 10 years on the pitch, and two years as assistant coach with York United. He helped lead York United to a 2022 Canadian Championship semi-final in his first season with the club. Eustáquio was named their interim head coach in 2024 ahead of the hiring of Benjamin Mora and received his UEFA B Coaching Licence earlier this year.
