23 player squad announced; CANMNT looking to advance to Concacaf Nations League finals

Canada Soccer has announced the selection of 23 players who will represent Canada in the November FIFA window.

The team will then travel to Toronto ahead of the second leg on Tuesday 19 November at 19:30 ET / 16:30 PT. “We are looking forward to getting the group together again with the mindset that there is a trophy on the line. We want to end 2024 the right way with two excellent performances against a competitive Suriname squad and continue building on our tremendous growth this past summer.”  – Jesse Marsch, MLS Canada Head Coach of the Men’s National Team

Concacaf Nations League Knockout Format

The quarter-finals pairings were determined based on the Concacaf Rankings published after the October 2024 FIFA Window for the four pre-seeded teams and the group stage results for the winners and runners-up of each group in League A play this October.

  • Mexico (Concacaf Ranking: 1) vs. Honduras (Worst Placed Runner-Up)
  • Canada (Concacaf Ranking: 2) vs. Suriname (Best Placed Runner-Up)
  • USA (Concacaf Ranking: 3) vs. Jamaica (Worst Placed Group Winner)
  • Panama (Concacaf Ranking: 4) vs. Costa Rica (Best Placed Group Winner)

The four quarter-final winners will advance to the Nations League Finals. The tournament will take place over four days and will be played in single-leg knockout matches, consisting of two semi-finals on 20 March 2025, and a third-place play-off and final on 23 March 2025.

Canada placed fifth (‘23-’24), second (‘22-’23) and fifth (‘19-’20) in the three previous editions of the Concacaf Nations League.
